Digitimes is speculating that Apple might release a ‘lite’ version of its AirPods Pro. Users have successfully adopted the truly wireless (TWS) earbuds line, therefore Apple is aiming to extend its product lineup so that it has three distinct price entries. The new version is expected to be in between the $159 standard AirPods 2 and the $249 AirPods Pro covering a large segment of the market.
Taiwan’s USI can be the main supplier for the new version of AirPods Pro and this model will employ a system-in-package (SiP) chip constriction, according to a new report.
The new budget AirPods is expected to arrive around mid-year but this might change due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak. AirPods Pro’s line is expected to grow by 40-50% of total AirPod sales by the end of the year.
