For 2020, HP has updated its OMEN 15, including an option to configure it with an AMD CPU, a first for a OMEN laptop, gaming laptop with new design and new specs.
The configuration of OMEN 15 can now be up to an Intel Core i7-10750H or an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H CPU and as for graphics you can now have it configured with up to NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super Max-Q.
With either a single stick or dual 512GB sticks in RAID 0 configuration, the storage can be as high as 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD and as for memory it can be configured up to 32GB of DDR4-2933 on the Intel model and DDR4-3200 on the AMD model.
The new model now has a 180-degree flat hinge design and a 15.6-inch display. On select configurations, you have a choice of a standard 1080p IPS LCD, 144Hz FHD IPS LCD, 300Hz FHD IPS LCD, or 120Hz UHD IPS LCD or OLED, with NVIDIA G-SYNC.
The OMEN 15 comes with optional per-key RGB backlight and is available in two colors, Mica Silver and Shadow Black with a new diamond logo with a blue green gradient. With an industry first IR thermopile sensor for temperature monitoring, larger vents and a 12V fan with three sided venting, the new design also features an improved thermal design.
As for the battery, HP claims 12.5 hours for non-gaming tasks but it’s obviously going to be a lot less during gaming.
The new HP OMEN 15 is now for sale and it starts at $999.
