OnePlus is seemingly working on bringing its own digital payment service to India. The company has recently trademarked OnePlus Pay, which will be a direct competitor to other online wallet services like Paytm, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, etc. For now, most of the third-party apps are based around the UPI system in India and are far ahead in the race.

Mukul Sharma found this news and twitted on his page. As per the information, OnePlus is planning on soon launching it is in-house digital payment platform in the country, however, it is still unknown when exactly the service will be available. The Chinese tech giant had first announced that it was working on a payment service back in 2019 in China. Any Oneplus user will be able to use this function as there is a pre-loaded wallet app in all the recently launched Oneplus devices, and users would have to set the OnePlus Pay as the default NFC-based app.

Using this function will be simply easy, we have listed the steps for you,

  1. You have to switch on the NFC function from your settings. (to use this function seamlessly your NFC had to be permanently switched on)
  2. Users have to double press the power button to quickly access the digital wallet, which can be linked to the users’ debit cards.

In India, the company is aiming to partner with Indian banks or international payment gateways like Visa & Mastercard that are widely popular in the region. For their Indian Customers, Oneplus is also aiming to try to partner with Rupay for Debit and Credit Cards.

Oneplus really need to do something extraordinary to bring the competition neck to neck with all the other third-party apps in India especially. Unfortunately, details are still unknown regarding the same, we will keep you updated.
