Redmi Note 8 Pro Vs Realme X2 Compare

Realme is a tough competitor of Xiaomi’s, Its strategy is to cut the share of Xiaomi and its successful Redmi lineup both by price and feature set – something no one thought was possible. But Realme is rather successful in this attempt in the year 2019, this resulted in some fierce competition between these two brands, strike after strike with each new product. Two of their most popular phones are the X2 and Redmi Note 8 Pro in the last quarter of 2019.

The Realme X2 and Redmi Note 8 Pro have a lot of similarities – the same size of the screen with matching resolution, stunning design, almost the same gaming performance, and identical camera setups.

The Realme comes up with a Super AMOLED panel and a high-tech under-display fingerprint reader, while the Redmi shines with a larger battery but the Realme takes the cake.

The two phones are very different in the hardware perspective – Realme has gone for a Snapdragon chipset, while the Redmi Note 8 Pro used a Mediatek the Helio G90T is quite impressive.

Another difference in the appliances of the two phones is that the Realme offers a dedicated microSD slot and faster charging, while the Redmi has an IR blaster for remote controlling appliances.

Design and build

In build and material quality, it looks like the comparison is a draw. Both phones have Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back.

It’s easy to differentiate between Realme from the Redmi if you are looking at their back panels. The Realme has its camera hump at the top left corner, while Xiaomi chooses to put it in the middle of the Redmi.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a larger screen IPS 6.53″, while the Realme X2 uses a smaller 6.4″ display but of the Super AMOLED.

Realme X2 and it’s under-display fingerprint reader

The Realme X2 to have an under-screen fingerprint reader. It is not as fast as the Redmi’s rear-mounted sensor, but it is more trendy or you called it a modern solution.

Redmi vs. Realme

Let’s talk about them notches now. The Realme has a 32MP selfie camera, while the Redmi has a 20MP front shooter. But with Redmi Note 8 Pro which also packs a tiny (white) notification LED in there, while the Realme does not have such notification lights.

Realme X2 gives you three-slot 2 for sim cards and a dedicated microSD slot, while the Redmi Note 8 Pro uses the hybrid solution where you choose either a second SIM card or microSD.

The X2 and Note 8 Pro also have similar rear panels – curved Gorilla Glass 5. Naturally, the colors are different, but there are other differences too. While both phones have the same camera setups, the locations are different.

Performance and benchmarks

The Realme X2 is powered by the most famous mid-range chip the Snapdragon 730G, built on the 8nm. It is a new variation of Snapdragon 730 but with a more powerful GPU due to the higher clock speeds. The octa-core processor packs 2x Kryo 470 Gold cores clocks at 2.2 GHz, and 6x Kryo 470 Silver cores (cortex-A55 derivatives) clocked at 1.8GHz. Adreno 618 GPU takes charge of graphics. Realme X2 has two ram variants, 6/8GB Ram.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T – also a gaming-centric chipset for mid-range purposes. It’s based on the 12nm. The Helio G90T packs an octa-core CPU with two large Cortex-A76 cores ticking at 2.05GHz. The Mali-G76 MC4 GPU takes care of graphics. Both the phones have the same ram options as 6/8 GB Ram.
