5-Day Working Week benefit comes to an end For Government Employees In Sikkim

Chief minister Prem Singh, after coming to power introduced five-day working week for
employees of the Sikkim government and public sector units.

They were not happy and satisfied with the performance of the workers so they finally decided
and the Sikkim government has withdrawn the five-day working week system and declared that they will get holidays only on second and fourth Saturdays and this system will be effective from 1 April.

Previously it was 6 days a week and only Sunday was a non-working day but now only
the 2nd and 4th Saturdays will be holidays for the government offices in Sikkim
as the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government was unhappy with the performance of its
employees despite providing them holidays on Saturdays and this disappointment lead them to
change their decision.

Any country becomes great by the number of its working assets. There are many things that
the government do and reinforce in order to make the employees happy so that they perform more effectively and efficiently ultimate leading to better outcomes. When we talk in terms of Human Development Index, India is ranked at 103, while China, South Korea, Singapore, and the US rank at 86, 22, 9 and 13, respectively there is a wide difference in the ranking when we see but on the other hand, we also know that India has the second-largest population in the world.

One of the key reasons considered is that the Indian government does not think much of its employees but bringing into function this system Sikkim government somehow proved it wrong.

It would have continued if the outcomes were better. Let us wait to see how people and workers react to this news.
